Okay, so I haven't posted in a long while. In fact I could not even think about posting during the Maccagnan era (error). The only thing that is the same today, as it was back in 2014 when Idzik was the GM, is that Woody Johnson is still the owner. Todd Bowles is gone, Adam Gase is gone and Richie Kotite is long gone (lol)!
Notwithstanding a decade long playoff drought and a parade of unwatchable games where the team has not been competitive, we Jets fans have been told to trust the process and that things will be different this time. Well, one can hope. although as I'm fond of saying - "fool me once shame on you, fool me for 50 years, shame on me."
Well despite all of the miserable football, I still want to see the Jets win. I saw the Rangers win the Stanley Cup in 1994, after a 54 year drought. Why can't the Jets win again after 53 years? That is why I am a LSJF. Hope. Oy!!
You do the math - I went to my first Jet game in 1964 with my dad. We sat in section 363-b at Shea Stadium, until the Jets bolted for the Meadowlands. I remember freezing in the howling winds that whipped around that old barn on multiple Sundays and remember freezing and watching Namath to Maynard and the Lamonica lateral that resulted in an AFL championship and the Jets only trip to the Super Bowl.
Well, maybe the pact that Joe Namath made with the devil for the Jets to be a star crossed franchise if the Jets could just win Super Bowl III, has finally expired. No way to be sure Joe Douglas has the chops to make it work. The jury is still out on Zach Wilson and Robert Saleh. Maybe, just maybe, they can pull it off and lift the Jets to a winning season. Maybe. Just Maybe.
Now the team has to stop talking about it and get out on the field and just win. Wins and losses. It is all about the wins and losses!!
